Multi Step Icing Simulation using Level-set approach

A level-set method was used to model the icing evolution within the NSMB solver. The icing occurs due to suspended liquid water droplets in air impinging on the surface of an aerofoil or aircraft. The impinging droplets either solidify on impact creating rime ice or flow as a water film freezing downstream creating glaze ice. Droplets are transported using Eulerian approach and the accreted ice is calculated using a shallow water equation model. The icing velocity is used to transport the Level-Set equation representing the modified geometry.
