Experimental Adventures in Interfacial Flows

We present measurement techniques that utilise advanced optical diagnostic tools, such as planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF), particle image/tracking velocimetry (PIV/PTV), and Infrared Thermography (IR), and are aimed at the detailed hydrodynamic characterization of a wide range of liquid-film flows. These include isothermal, harmonically excited film-flows falling under the action of gravity, low and high Pr and Ka flows falling down a heated substrate, and low and high Ka film-flows falling down inverted substrates.
