Complex liquid film flowing down a vertical fiber

 Version Francaise

When a film flows down a vertical fibre, the initially uniform film breaks up into a regular string of complex drops. We use polymer solutions with shear-thinning effect and normal forces. The influence of these viscoelastic properties on the flow dynamics and the morphology of the patterns are investigated considering the physico-chemical properties of the fluids.

Non-newtonian liquids.
